Selection of industrial heater accessories
Determine key materials and specifications of Industrial Electric Heater
1. Material of the sheath/shell:
· Stainless steel 304: General-purpose, suitable for non-corrosive environments.
· Stainless steel 316/316L: Better resistance to acid and alkali corrosion, suitable for most chemical applications.
· Tetrafluoroethylene (PTFE): Extremely strong corrosion resistance, suitable for strong acids and alkalis.
· Quartz: Corrosion-resistant, used in semiconductor and ultraviolet fields.
2. Type of heating element:
· Metal tube electric heating wire (most commonly used): High cost-effectiveness, wide temperature range (-100~800℃).
· Silicon carbide rod (SiC): Suitable for high temperatures (up to 1500℃), but resistance changes with usage time.
· Silicon molybdenum rod (MoSi₂): Suitable for ultra-high temperatures (up to 1800℃), good oxidation resistance.
3. Insulation materials:
· Magnesium oxide powder (MgO): The most commonly used insulating and thermal conductive filler, resistant to high temperatures. Pay attention to moisture prevention.
· Ceramic: Used in high-temperature heaters.
Configuration of Control System and Safety Protection
1. Temperature Control System:
· Sensors: Thermocouples (K type, J type, etc.) or thermistors (PT100).
· Controller: Simple on-off control, PID regulation control, multi-stage program control, etc. PID control can provide more precise and stable temperatures.
2. Safety Protection System (of utmost importance!) :
· Independent over-temperature protector: Such as mechanical temperature control switch, thermocouple combined with an independent safety alarm module. As the last line of defense after the main control system fails.
· Fuse/Breaker: To prevent overcurrent.
· Leakage protection device (ELCB/RCD): To prevent electric shock.
· Liquid level linkage control: For immersion-type heaters, it must be linked with the low liquid level switch and the power should be cut off when the liquid level is low.
· Flow switch: For Duct Heating devices, it must be linked with thefan, and the power should be cut off when there is no wind.
· Pressure switch: For pressurized systems, the power should be cut off when the pressure exceeds the limit.
The safety of industrial electric heaters is always of the utmost importance. Do not omit the necessary safety protection devices just to save costs. A reliable selection is the foundation for ensuring safe, efficient and stable production operation.
